Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Yoshihiro “Yosh” Uchida

The Spartan community mourns the loss of Yosh Uchida, who passed away on June 27, 2024 at the age of 104. Uchida’s legendary impact was felt not only at the university but throughout the world, most notably in the world of judo. We reflect on the great life Yosh lived, and are thankful for his more than 75 years of service to SJSU.
